SensNews May 2020

Sensor100 2020 4 From the Editor... Probably like us you have had enough of being a caged animal, but may share our view that it is possibly a tad too early to release the lockdown yet. Have you noticed that the sky looks clearer (less pollution), well meaning charity requests for 2-3 £ ($) per month have increased (we are spend- ing more time on-line), and that you have dusted off old CDs and books you have been meaning to read. We have listened to several webinars, to get a sense of how that works - not very well is our conclusion. Being tied to a monitor for an hour while a not-very-well-thought-out presentation is made is not our idea of fun. Having postponed our two planned conferences for 2020, we have thought about joining the rush to convert them to virtual events. Our preference at this time is to wait and see if the live-event industry recov- ers. If it doesn't do so soon, we will need to reconsider but recognise that the format of virtual events needs to be very different. We have, however, decided to launch a virtual trade show for diagnostic technolo- gy- more information inside. Stay well, and we hope we may be able to see you soon. Kind regards Michael Brand michael@sensor100.com
