The outbreak identified this month has hospitalized 63 people and sickened 164 in 35 states, killing one in California, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Pre- vention and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service. A specific site for the infection has not been identified suggesting it is widespread in the poultry and lettuce industry.
