Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day in the USA so I’d like to take this op-
portunity to thank Amercian readers for their support, and to wish
them a Happy Thanksgiving. During the time I lived in the US, I came
to appreciate the value of this national holiday. It is a time when fami-
lies make a real effort to get together, sometimes flying long distances
to do so. And, whoever cooks the turkey is likely to use a tempera-
ture sensor to make sure the salmonella is killed (180
0
F if I remember
correctly - but don’t trust me!).
This newsletter has grown again this month, and could have been
longer. We are working on soliciting advertising revenue, so that we
can keep emailing at no cost to readers, which has always been a basic
tenet of Sensor100. However, like everything else, our costs keep ris-
ing.
Sensors in Medicine 2014
is progressing well, with a truly impressive
range of invited speakers from the academic and commercial worlds.
The Call for Papers ends on 31 December, more realistically on the
24 December for most people. If you haven’t submitted your Abstract
yet, why not do it now?
Kind regards
Michael
