Zurich University of Applied Sciences
Institute of Biotechnology
The Centre for Measurement and Sensor Tech-
nology at Zurich University of Applied Sciences
has the objective of improving understanding of
biotechnological processes. Real time observa-
tion and control of biotechnology processes uses
electrochemical and optical sensors, which are
developed in collaboration with industry partners.
On- and off-line data acquisition and the use of intelligent systems cre-
ate the basis for process control and optimisation.
The Centre runs an annual conference:
Interdisciplinary conference on bioprocess
analytics and sensor technology.
The topics this year will be:
Optical technologies for sensing and imaging
Next generation pH sensors
Wireless solutions for online analytics
Single-use sensing solutions
Online analytics in bioprocess development and upstream
processes
